Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents his first trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.

Victory also means the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

His counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden tour victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.

He saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after a lengthy match.
